Itinerary

Day 1-2Vancouver Porto, Portugal

Depart from Vancouver today and fly to Porto, the second largest city in Portugal and one of the oldest cities in Europe. It brings together the best of Portugal: warm sunshine, magnificent churches, winding medieval streets, iron flowers and magnets. brick-decorated home, and her namesake wine, Port. Upon arrival, transfer to hotel for rest and enjoy welcome dinner. (Dinner)

Day 3Porto

Porto city tour. Visit [St. Benedict Station], which was rebuilt from a long-lost monastery in the 19th century. It is still a busy station. The 20,000 pieces of blue colored bricks in the station tell the history of Porto. Watching the Dom Luís I Bridge across the Douro River, connecting the urban area with the town of Nova de Gaia on the other side of the river, is the most idyllic part of Porto’s landscape. Visit the famous [Port Winery], learn about the unique local winemaking process and taste the wine in the wine cellar. (Breakfast, Lunch, Dinner)

Day 4Guimarães & Braga

Fjords of Galicia Boat Tour with Dinner

Visit the city of Guimaras, known as the “Cradle of Portugal”, which was listed as a World Heritage Site in 2006. It is the birthplace of Portugal and the birthplace of the founding king. Visit Kimaras Castle, which was built in the 10th century. It is located on the top of the hill with excellent geography. In the afternoon, arrive at Braga City, which is called Rome of Portugal because of its strong religious history and background. Enter Spain in the afternoon, board a boat to enjoy the beautiful scenery of the Galicia Fjords, and take you to visit the mussel farm. On-site specialists will explain to you what you need to know about raising shellfish and demonstrate how to obtain mussels. You can also taste ultra-fresh Galician seafood dinner on board. After the meal, there will be a performance by the bartender, using special vanilla or coffee, lemon peel, and cinnamon to prepare a Galician traditional alcoholic drink Flame Queimada. Pair it with Santiago cake for a 100% authentic experience. (Breakfast, Lunch, Dinner)

Day 5Santiago de Compostela → La Coruña

Visiting the Old City of San Diego, which was listed as a world cultural heritage in 1985, is the end of the pilgrimage to St. James. According to legend, St. James, one of the twelve disciples of Jesus, was buried here. The Catholic Church is famous for its pilgrimage site, which is as famous as Rome and Jerusalem. Visit the main Cathedral built in the 11th-13th centuries and the large square next to the Cathedral. Around the square, there are characteristic buildings such as the city government and antique schools. If you are interested, you can visit the museum to learn more about the historical background of the city; or go into the old city for sightseeing and shopping. Enjoy a local lunch afterwards. In the afternoon continue to A Coruña located in the most northwestern tip of Spain. Sightseeing in the city includes the old city Maria Pita Square and the seaside Tower of Hercules, which is the oldest (about 1,900 years ago) and only ancient Roman lighthouse still in use in the world. The next evening is a free time for sightseeing. Everyone walks on the seaside boulevard/beach to enjoy the sunset and take photos of the sunset. (Breakfast, Lunch, Dinner)

Day 6Beach of the Cathedrals → Oviedo

In the morning, head east along the northern coastline of Spain, pass by Holy Water Beach, also known as Cathedral Beach, and see the natural stone arches beside the beach, admiring the uncanny craftsmanship of nature. Then arrive at Oviedo, the capital of the Kingdom of Asturias. Oviedo is a city that makes people daydream, and it has appeared in movies many times. Romantic literary atmosphere and rich historical background have become the essence of Oviedo. Strolling on the main streets of the city, you will find many sculptures of different styles; there are also many ancient buildings that still maintain their original appearance, and being in them is like being on a European-style ancient street. Day 7Leon → Burgos

Arrive Leon in the morning. Visit the Notre Dame Basilica built above the ruins of the ancient Roman bathhouse. It is a masterpiece of Gothic architecture, especially the stained glass made in the Middle Ages, which is extremely exquisite. Visit the Spanish national hero – the hometown of El Cid – the medieval city Burgos. Then go to the world cultural heritage Burgos Cathedral, the cathedral built in 1221, it took three centuries to complete. The resplendent altar and Renaissance-style golden staircase, ornately carved white stone walls, and distinctive chapels in the church show the artistic styles of different periods. Day 8Santillana del mar → Santander

In the morning, visit one of the most beautiful medieval villages Santillana considered to be a national monument. Stroll the cobbled streets and admire stone houses adorned with medieval carved heraldic symbols. You can imagine what it was like in the Middle Ages. Farmers lived a simple life together back then, which was nothing like our modern life. In the afternoon, visit Santander. This wealthy harbor city, with its bright coastal scenery and pleasant climate, is the summer resort of the Spanish royal family. Watch the boats scattered in the bustling yacht port along the promenade, and enjoy the charming scenery of the sunset. (Breakfast, Lunch, Dinner)

Day 9Bilbao Barcelona

After breakfast, proceed to Bilbao, which used to be a heavy industrial city, but now it has become an internationally renowned and legendary capital of contemporary art. Visit Bilbao’s most famous cultural landmark Guggenheim Museum. The streamlined exterior made of titanium sheets shines with rich layers of metallic light, presenting an infinite sense of rhythm. There is a lot to see both inside and outside the museum. Also great for a walk along the river. In the afternoon fly to Barcelona. This is the most comfortable and considerate arrangement, saving more than 600 kilometers of long-distance driving. (Breakfast, Dinner)

Day 10Tarragona → Flamenco Show

1 2 Tarragona was one of the important towns on the Iberian Peninsula during the ancient Roman period, and many of the features of the ancient Roman period were preserved inside and outside the town. It was occupied by the Romans in 218 BC. After being sacked by the Moors in 714, it declined. In the 12th century, it became prosperous again and became an important town in the Kingdom of Aragon. The most classic is the Roman Colosseum located on the Mediterranean coast. The entire old city is full of rich Roman relics and was officially registered as a World Heritage Site in 2000. Day 11 Walking Tour → Free Time

In the morning, under the leadership of the tour guide and the team leader, we will walk together to explore the famous Jewish Quarter in Barcelona, and visit the Barcelona Cathedral. Let’s take the underground train in the city to Xixiangya Square. The high-end meal in the National Art Palace specially inserted on the Plaza de España
Enjoy a delicious lunch. Afterwards, return to our coach, and you can comfortably listen to the tour guide explaining the sights of Barcelona. More free time is specially arranged, group members can go shopping happily. In the evening, we specially arrange a rich farewell dinner for everyone.

Day 12Barcelona Vancouver

After breakfast, take a private car to Barcelona Airport. The return flight returned to Vancouver in the evening of the same day. A wonderful and unforgettable 12-day Northern Portugal and Spain has come to a successful conclusion.

Payment

  • Pay CAD $500 deposit within 3 days of registration
  • The balance is due 90 days before departure
  • Tour fees can only be paid in cash, cheque, or bank draft.
  • VISA or MasterCard payment + 3% processing fee

Booking

  • All group members must bring their own valid passports or visas (valid for at least half a year from the return journey)
  • Please provide the same name as the travel document when booking
  • If you want to change in the future, you need to pay a handling fee of $50 and other related fees

Cancellation Policy (Per Person)

90 days prior to the departure date or before – CAD $500
60 days prior to the departure date or before – 40% of the total cost
45 days prior to the departure date or before – 75% of total cost
Within 45 days of departure – 100% of the total cost

Important Information

All group members must bring their own valid passports and visas to enter the various tourist destinations, which are valid for at least half a year from the date of return.

Group members please give us the correct name (must be the same as that on the travel document) when registering. If it needs to be changed in the future, the group members need to pay a handling fee of $50 and other related name change fees. Written notice is required to cancel the trip.

Tips for the tour leader, local tour guide, and driver:
Total EUR 180 (12 days) / EUR 170 (11 days)
The fee will be collected during the itinerary briefing before departure.

All group members must arrive at the departure point and the meeting points during the journey on time. If you are late and cannot make the trip or miss any itinerary, eHome Travel will not be responsible for any losses, and the fees paid by the group members will not be refunded. All hotels in the itinerary use standard rooms. For special upgrades to suites or sea view rooms (if applicable), please inquire.

Additional Terms

The company uses various types of sightseeing transportation and hotels, such as airplanes, hotels and tour buses, etc. For the safety of guests’ personal lives and luggage, various institutions have established various regulations to be responsible for the guests. In the event of luggage loss, etc., it shall be handled in accordance with the safety regulations established by various organizations and companies, and it has nothing to do with the company.

In case of special circumstances, such as strikes or riots, bad weather or machine failure affecting traffic, sudden full capacity of aircraft or local hotels, traffic jams, flight cancellation or change of time, etc., it is necessary to change or cancel any itinerary. For a tour program and meals, the company may make arrangements according to the prevailing circumstances. The donations caused in this case shall be handled in accordance with the company’s regulations, and the group members shall not object or withdraw without any reason.

The company reserves the right to change or cancel part or all of the itinerary at any time, subject to the final announcement of the company. If the itinerary is cancelled before departure, eHome Travel will refund all the fees paid by the guests (except visa fees). The company is not responsible for canceling any itinerary or departure date.

If the outbound group cannot transit smoothly due to the problem of your documents, it has nothing to do with our company, and the fee will not be refunded. eHome Travel strongly recommends that you purchase appropriate travel insurance (including trip cancellation, delay and medical insurance).
